Valorie Lyng
Valorie Lyng has more than 20 years experience in administrative management, human resource management and financial management. As director of Business Operations for PetersGroup Public Relations, she supervises the day-to-day operations of the firm including managing corporate finances, benefits administration, policy development, employee relations, IT functions and Web site enhancements.
Prior to joining PetersGroup Public Relations in 2001, she worked for Strategic Solutions, Inc., a manufacturers representative company, as vice president of Operations. Lyng's responsibilities included overseeing the day-to-day management of a multi-office company with sites in Austin, Dallas and Houston. Additionally, she maintained the company's e-catalog of products and services tailored for state and government agencies. Prior to this role, she held a similar role for Home Video Plus Music, Inc., a video rental chain with 100 employees in more than 10 locations in Austin and its surrounding areas. In this position, Lyng's responsibilities also required research and negotiation of prospective sites as the business expanded.
Lyng's experience also includes founding a small business, working in the broadcast industry and legal accounting. She has owned a professional photographers studio, Visions by Valorie, served KHFI-FM Radio , KXAN-TV and John McDuff, P.C., Attorneys.
Lyng holds an associate's degree in Radio, Television and Film. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration at St. Edwards University. Lyng is a member of several business and professional organizations including the Society of Human Resource Management. Lyng held a board position with the local Austin Chapter of Professional Photographers from 1995 to 1999 and has also served as editor of the organization's newsletter In-Focus in 1996.
