John Smolucha

Musician. Strategist. John brings over 20 years of experience in helping organizations achieve the four business objectives that matter most: sales growth, market share gain, profit maximization and industry leadership. He is the primary point of contact for driving the strategic direction and tactical execution of PetersGroup client programs.  

Industry colleagues refer to him as “one of those rare and truly inspiring leaders who takes on the ‘whole of it’ - with an uncanny ability to translate strategic vision into clear concise plans of action”. Prior to joining PetersGroup, John held strategy and chief marketing officer positions at Movero Technologies, Enea AB, Motorola Semiconductor, Metrowerks Corporation, Encirq Corporation, and Software Development Systems. His executive experience includes corporate strategy, marketing, business development, sales, product management, product development and mergers and acquisitions. With a unique blend of Startup and Fortune 500 experience, he has taken both companies and products to market across a broad range of industries including technology, entertainment, automotive, telecommunications, education, healthcare and mobile handsets.   

John spent the early part of his career working on missile guidance systems for the Department of Defense. He was awarded the U.S. Navy Medal of Achievement for outstanding leadership and technical expertise during the Persian Gulf crisis. After leaving the Defense Industry he worked in the field of high-energy physics, where he helped design and implement many of the real-time control systems that powered the first super-conducting particle accelerator at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, located in Chicago’s western suburbs.     

He attended the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, is a graduate of the Landmark Education curriculum for Transformational Leadership and served as vice president of the D89 Board of Education in DuPage County, Illinois.
